The Ouachita Parish School Board (OPSB) has created and maintains an Internet website designed to provide a means of effective communication between administrators, teachers, support staff, students, parents, and the community.  Publishing privileges on the School Board website shall be provided to School Board staff through individuals who have been certified and authorized by the School Board.  Posting permission and content shall be maintained at the discretion of the School Board site administration.  Creators of web pages shall familiarize themselves with, and adhere to the following provisions.  Failure to follow these policy provisions may result in the loss of authoring privileges and/or other disciplinary measures.  The Ouachita Parish School Board is committed to Internet publishing that supports the mission of the school system, is in good taste and of superior quality, and compliments the strengths of the school system.

ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. The Website Administrator is responsible for developing and maintaining the OPSB district website.

  2. The Communications Department has the primary responsibility for the content of the OPSB website.  All content for the OPSB district website must be approved by the Communications Department.

  3. A Website Coordinator shall be designated for each school in the district.  Each school’s Website Coordinator shall be responsible for all content posted to that school’s website.  The Website Coordinator shall also be responsible for ensuring that a release form is on file before publishing any identifiable student photos or works.

  4. The Webmaster is the person who actually creates, publishes, and maintains the school’s website.  The Webmaster may be the Website Coordinator or may be designated by the Website Coordinator.  The Webmaster may be a teacher (or other school employee), parent, or other individual deemed capable of publishing the school’s website.  However, the Website Coordinator shall be ultimately responsible for the content of the school’s website.
