DISCIPLINE OF STUDENTS ENGAGED IN VIRTUAL INSTRUCTION
BEHAVIOR STANDARD
All students engaged in virtual instruction shall be held to the same standards of discipline as required by the student code of conduct as though said student was in class, on campus or an extension thereof as participation in a school related event. More particularly, the visual display of prohibited weapons, drugs, alcohol, etc. or possession thereof, by students engaged in visual virtual instruction or the audible expression of prohibited language in a classroom setting by those engaged in a school and/or audible instruction shall be subject to the same disciplinary measures as provided for in policies JCD, Student Conduct, JCDAF, Bullying and Hazing, JD, Discipline, JDD, Suspension, and JDE, Expulsion, and guidelines set forth in the Iberia Parish District Chromebook Agreement and Student Acceptable Use Agreement as though they were committed within the classroom setting when said actions are visual or audible to the virtual method of instruction.
It shall be the responsibility of the parent, guardian or caretaker of the student residing in said house to ensure that other individuals are not visibly or audibly displaying conduct as described in the preceding paragraph. Failure to do so could result in the student’s disqualification from visual and audible virtual instruction.
DRESS CODE
All students participating in visual virtual instruction shall comply with the student dress code (policy JCDB, Student Dress Code) as though they were sitting in class. It shall be the responsibility of the parent, guardian or caretaker of the student residing in said home to ensure that other individuals are not inappropriately dressed or undressed whereby they could be visible to others participating in such virtual instruction. Failure to do so could result in the student’s disqualification from visual virtual instruction.
