             The Iberia Parish School Board met in Regular Session at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 in the Board Room at the Administrative Office, 1500 Jane Street, New Iberia, Louisiana.

             The President called the meeting to order and asked for a Moment of Silence for individuals who had passed away:          

                          Mrs. Ruby Mae Spikes Smith - Retired Girls’ Coach - New Iberia Senior High

                          Mrs. Billie Jean LeBourgeois - Long association with the Board as a property owner

             The Opening Prayer was given by Rev. Alexander and the Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mr. Robbie LeBlanc.

             The following resolution was offered by Mr. Edwin J. Buford, Jr. and seconded by Mrs. Kim E. Lockett:

                                                                               RESOLUTION

A resolution authorizing the incurring of debt and issuance of Twelve Million Fifty Thousand Dollars ($12,050,000) of General Obligation School Bonds, Series 2017, of Parishwide School District of the Parish of Iberia, State of Louisiana; prescribing the form, terms and conditions of said Bonds; designating the date, denomination and place of payment of said Bonds; providing for the payment thereof in principal and interest; and providing for other matters in connection therewith.

             The resolution was adopted on a vote of 14 Yeas, 0 Nays, 0 Abstaining, 0 Absent.  Voting Aye were Mr. Thomas L. Jolivet,  Mrs. Nursey O. McNeal, Mr. Elvin Pradia, Mr. Jay J.              Mrs. French made a presentation regarding Chez Hope, Inc., Family Violence Crisis Center, that is replacing SNAP and introduced the staff members.

AGENDA ITEM E1 - BID NO. 1066 - NEW PAVILION - REMY LANDRY PARK

             Mr. Fremin moved, Mr. Segura seconded, approval of the staff recommendation for awarding Bid No. 1066 - New Pavilion at Remy Landry Park, base bid and Alternate #1, in the amount of $308,800.00, to SBCC, LLC, as presented.

The motion was unanimously adopted.

AGENDA ITEM E2 - INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT - 16^TH JUDICIAL DISTRICT

             Mr. Robbie LeBlanc moved, Mr. McDonald seconded, approval of  the Intergovernmental Agreement between the 16^th Judicial District Attorney, the Office of Family Services and the School Board for the Early Intervention Program, as presented.

The motion was unanimously adopted.

AGENDA ITEM E3 - NEW JOB DESCRIPTION - B-626 - EDUCATIONAL AND LEGAL

                                                                 FACILITATOR OF QUALITY CONTROL

             Rev. Alexander moved, Mrs. Lockett seconded, approval of the new Job Description, B-626 - Educational and Legal Facilitator of Quality Control, as presented.

             1.          Students in Grades 1 - 12 begin school on Friday, August 4^th.

             2.          Annual Educators’ Mass will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church on Sunday, August 6^th at 9:00 a.m.

             3.          The proposed school system budget for the 2017-18 fiscal year is at each member’s place.  The public hearing and board meeting to adopt the budget will be held on August 23^rd at 5:30 p.m.
