EVALUATION OF THE SUPERINTENDENT
The Beauregard Parish School Board believes that student growth, district progress and community satisfaction are all affected by the Superintendent’s job performance. The Superintendent cannot function effectively without periodic feedback about his/her job performance. Therefore, the School Board recognizes its responsibility to evaluate the Superintendent in a confidential manner. The School Board shall evaluate the Superintendent in an open or closed session, based upon the desires of the Superintendent, according to standards agreed upon by both parties. The intent of the evaluation is to provide the highest quality leadership for the school system.
Formal evaluation of the Superintendent will be conducted annually during the October regular School Board meeting. The evaluation of the Superintendent by the School Board will be based on the specifics as detailed by the Superintendent’s contract. Written evaluation forms will be mailed to School Board members by September 1 of each year. The forms must be returned to the Director of Personnel by the September regular school board meeting. The Director of Personnel and School Board President will open or review each form. Each performance area will be calculated and averaged, and a copy of the averages and any additional comments listed will be provided to the School Board Members and the Superintendent by October 1.
